According to the results of the simulation calculation, the structure and design parameters of the thermal management system of the whole vehicle are re-matched and calculated, resulting in a new set of battery thermal management system adapted to the use of fast-charging power batteries. The results of the research in this paper are as below:
Chen et al. developed a cooling strategy for the fast charging of LIB modules based on indirect liquid cooling with a mini-channel structure. A regression model based on neural networks was proposed to reduce the duration and expense of the design procedure for a fast charging and cooling system.
The core part of this review presents advanced cooling strategies such as indirect liquid cooling, immersion cooling, and hybrid cooling for the thermal management of batteries during fast charging based on recently published research studies in the period of 2019–2024 (5 years).
Compared with the benchmark electric car model, the battery energy consumption can be reduced by 36% at −30 °C. In addition, an annual analysis shows that a 30 kg heat storage tank can reduce the average annual consumption of battery by up to 20 Wh/km or 12%. Fig. 6. The study’s findings indicated that the T max and ∆T of the cell were maintained inside the ideal range for operation at 38 °C and 1.3 °C during semi-fast charging and discharging experiments at 2C and 3C, respectively . Li et al. proposed a new cooling strategy with immersion cooling by applying SF33 fluid.
From the data in the table, we can see that after the battery temperature exceeds 45 °C, the charging capacity of the power battery drops sharply; beyond 50 °C, the charging multiplier drops to less than 0.5C.
