First, the rural energy structure and energy utilization in the eastern, central, and western regions of China are analyzed, and the development and utilization modes of multi-energy complementary systems in different regions are evaluated based on the differences in the resource endowment in different regions.
The multi-energy hybrid power systems using solar energy can be generally grouped in three categories. The first category is the hybrid complement of solar and fossil energies, including solar-coal, solar-oil and solar-natural gas hybrid systems.
In general, the main energy sources of rural households include electric power, gas and natural gas, firewood, coal, biogas, and solar energy. The distribution of rural energy consumption and supply in China is shown in Fig. 1, Fig. 2. Fig. 1.
China’s rural residential photovoltaic system has been greatly developed in recent years. However, most existing researches, are difficult to reflect the real development situation of the whole system.
With regard to technology research and development, the latest photoelectric conversion efficiency of China’s mass production of silicon solar cell has reached more than 25%, which is the world’s leading level (Chen et al. 2022).
