This reference design is intended to show an implementation of a two-channel single-phase string inverter with fully bidirectional power flow to combine PV input functionality with BESS supporting a wide range of battery voltages. This system consists of two boards that are split by different functionality.
To operate in an open loop, a compensation phase angle is calculated and introduced in the single-phase inverter modulation; this phase angle compensates the phase shift caused by the L-filter, avoiding the use of a phase-locked-loop (PLL) control system.

TIDA-010938 depicts an inverter stage rated up to 4.6kW and can be configured into unipolar, bipolar and HERIC based converters.
